Pendwell, LLC ("Pendwell", "we", "us") builds, runs, and maintains custom software for small and mid-size businesses. This policy covers the pendwell.com website. It does not cover software we build and operate for a client under a separate agreement; that work is governed by the contract for that engagement.
We only collect what you type into the contact form on this site:
Every one of those fields is submitted by you deliberately. We do not ask for, and this site does not collect, payment details, government identifiers, health information, or any other sensitive category of personal data.
This site sets no cookies. It runs no advertising tags, no session recording, and no third-party tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites.
We use PostHog to count how the site is used, and we have turned off the parts of it that would collect more than that. Specifically:
What is collected is the page you viewed, the referring site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type. PostHog stores an anonymous, randomly generated identifier in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so that two page views in the same visit can be counted as one visit. It is not linked to your name or email, and we do not attempt to work out who you are from it.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we do not load analytics at all. Blocking analytics with an extension is also fine, and the site works normally without it.
Contact form submissions are processed by Formspree, a third-party form service, which forwards them to our email inbox. Formspree receives your submission in order to deliver it and handles it under its own privacy policy. From there your message sits in our business email, and we use it only to reply to you and to discuss the work you asked about.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We will not add you to a newsletter or marketing list because you used the contact form.
This site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those font files directly from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which means Google receives your IP address and basic request information as part of serving them. That request is made by your browser, not by us, and we receive nothing from it. Google's handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
This site is served as static files by a commercial hosting provider. Like essentially all web hosts, that provider keeps short-term operational logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and reliability purposes. We do not use those logs for marketing or analytics.
We keep contact form submissions for as long as we are in conversation with you, and afterwards for as long as we need them for ordinary business records. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
You can ask us to tell you what information about you we hold, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we will honor those requests where they apply to us.
This policy covers the website. If you send us a book of business for a Pendwell Life scan, that file does not travel through this site and is handled under separate commitments, set out on our security and data handling page.
This site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect the information you send us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
Questions about this policy, or about information we hold: [email protected].
